Txt msg nails

Hellooo I'm back with a tutorial as promised!  boy have I had a lot of trouble upholding said promise!! it rained so hard today! We even had lightning and thunder (wtf july?!) I came back from work absolutely SOAKED, got all my boring chores done like a good girl -I got my groceries- dinner was on the way - the house was shiny -the nails were done - I was feeling smug ^_^ switched on the laptop to gets a bloggin for you guys and ...
OMG ...
WTF...
Wheres my internets!!!
so then a rather loooong call to the internet people and ..
OMG the terrifying news that I have to wait till..?? (unknown date!) to have my darling internets returned to me..!!!
in the end my amazing genius of a boyfriend came home and went and paid the neighbors for their internet pass code (oh praise yee lovely neighbors - and boyfriend) so I was FINALLY back on track.. tutorial ahoy!
So without further delay here's how I (very simpley) created my Txt msg nails (and also the Mister mouse nails yesterday).
I really like the finished look but there are endless possibilities with this technique... you could obv. write words if you prefer..this method is fab for any nail art that requires txt (because txt is sooo hard!) so I hope you guys find a good use for this .

You will need to get some DRY TRANSFER LETTERING this is readily available in stationary shops and generally cheap (you can get many designs it's not just letters available but this is a cheap and common variety so a good starting place). This is not speciality transfers for nails it is just a regular stationary product. You will also need a cuticle stick (or something similar).
1. Begin by painting your base colour or design, I chose a mid tone candy pink.
 2. When nails are completely dry (this is really important for the technique!) just place the sheet of transfers over your chosen nail, hold in place and rub the chosen transfer onto the nail. You can tell when it has rubbed off the sheet onto the nail because you will see it go lighter in colour so then you can tell it's safe to move the sheet.. you have to be gentle during this process but it's really easy and you'll soon get the hang of it!
 3. Finish by gentley tapping the letters down on your nail with your finger tip -  just to make sure all the edges are flat and coating in clear top coat. Try not to brush the clear top coat on too vigorously or it will smudge. That's it... Voila! short but sweet...and really handy!
Try to keep the sheet of transfers nice and still when you rub the letter onto the nail or you can end up with some warped bits.. I found it easier to keep the transfers on the sheet rather than cut out the ones I want because it gives you something to hold the transfer in place with while you work.
Hope you like them - I'm really loving the finished look it's just so darn quick to do and simple as anything but totally effective! I can't stop thinking about all the different ways I can use the technique in other designs! Back soon (assuming there's no more crisis' with my connection!) xxx

    1. thanks very much, I think you could still use this technique on short nails.. but just fewer letters on each nail.. if you find it difficult to do the letters just get a friend involved!! you always get loads of letters on each sheet so you could both do each others hands and it would b really a load easier! have fun x
